47635 helps out 90040, Cheddington 5 June 2003
Просмотров 16 тыс.14 лет назад
More from Cheddington....47635 heads 90040 on a down service train, returning south, still in charge, about 2 hours later. Whatever the problem was, it was fixed in time for the class 90 to head north unassisted, in the final clip, 2 hours 40 minutes later.
92007 hits the brakes, Marholm 3 April 2009
Просмотров 36 тыс.15 лет назад
The Class 92 presumably gets a yellow, the nearer signal was showing green. The train was the 4E32 empty steel (ex Ebange) from Dollands Moor to Scunthorpe. Nice to see a 92 working on the East Coast Main Line.
HST's dying 2tone, Marholm 3 April 2009
Просмотров 7 тыс.15 лет назад
National Express 43318 gives an unusual 2tone as it speeds by, with 43300 (not 43366 or 43330 as previously noted) on the rear. There may be a bit of Doppler effect but the "dying" started before it passed the camera.
Virgin AC locos at speed, Cheddington 5 June 2003
Просмотров 43 тыс.15 лет назад
Virgin class 86, 87 and 90 locos (with a little help from EWS), doing what they did so well. Stay to the end for blue 86233 heading north. Any ideas what the metallic noise on both shots of 86228 might have been? Locos featured: 86212 86228 86229 86233 86249 86259 86260 87004 87005 87006 87007 87009 87010 87011 87012 87021 87022 87023 87024 87029 90002 90005 90008 90011 90014 90018 90031.

Please note: in the second shot 43157 is leading & 43123 is at the rear, and not as shown. Thanks class43 matty. Shot at Cheddington before they extended the platforms. Featuring 43099 & 43160 (twice), 43123 & 43157, and 43068 & 43098. Turn up the volume and feel the noise!!
Chiltern Bubble 121020, Little Kimble, 5 June 2003

The Chiltern Railways Class 121 55020 on the evening shuttle between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury. The Little Kimble station is very adjacent to the busy A4010, hence the traffic noise.
58026 Bone Shaker (or don't stand so close!)

Shrivenham Freight Workings, 23 November 2000
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.15 лет назад
Recorded on a murky afternoon during the period of disruption following the Hatfield Crash. Featuring 59005 60011 60040 60088 66005 66159. I don't know 59005's working as the line west of Westbury had been closed for repairs that morning and train timings were all over the place!
Valentas + 47813, Shrivenham 23 November 2000
Просмотров 10 тыс.15 лет назад
Featuring six Great Western HSTs plus 47813 "SS Great Britain" & 165128. THe HSTs featured are 43164 & 43165, 43002 & 43141, 43146 & 43132, 43139 & 43026, 43138 & 43177 and 43172 & 43144. This was recorded in the post Hatfield era, hence the various temporary speed restriction signs. Hang on to the end - the noise of the opening up of the Valenta engines is, in my opinion, worth it!
Sharnbrook freight workings, 28 August 2008
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.15 лет назад
Featuring 66529, 66136, 66040, the Bardon-liveried 66623 & 66527. There was less than anticipated freight, perhaps due to it being the bank holiday week. Naively thinking that all freight would be on the bi-directional line we missed successfully videoing 66520 on 6Z47 Bow to Bardon Hill which came up the incline on the main line.
Sharnbrook - HSTs & Meridians, 28 August 2008

PLEASE NOTE: The correct number of the class 43 labelled as 43056 is 43055. Video recorded on the southern approach to Sharnbrook Summit, athough nearer to the village of Souldrop. Class 43's featured are 43043, 43045, 43046, 43052, 43054, 43055 (in Stagecoach livery), 43060, 43073, 43075, 43076, 43081 & 43082. AC Units at Bletchley, 6 October 1995
Просмотров 8 тыс.15 лет назад
A bit of nostalgia with representatives of classes 313, 317 & 321 in NSE livery and a class 323 in Centro livery. This is the fourth (fifth if you count the repeated horn-blowing 87), and last, of the uploaded videos made on that wet day, when we were told to stop videoing and remove ourselves! Apologies for the nearby construction site noise on the soundtrack.
Short tribute to the Thumpers
Просмотров 9 тыс.15 лет назад
A photo & video tribute to the Hampshire & Berkshire class 205 units. I first met up with these units in, I guess, the end of the school summer holidays in 1957 when for no preplanned reason I and some friends turned up on our bikes at Itchen Abbas station. We were told to sit down & not cause any fuss whereupon, to our amazement, 1101 & 1102 rolled in. Dignatories got out & shook hands with th...

I was today years old when I realised the white stripes on the 86’s and Mark 2’s were lower and thinner on the body sides when compared to 87’s/90’s and Mark 3’s!

Nicely spotted. I can't unsee it now. Also, the 86s' cabside numbers are positioned higher than on the 87s, 90s and DVTs.

Obviously a unique spectacle precious to our heritage that everybody loved to see and would never be repeated so therefore it had to go, no two ways about it. I used to put it down to stupidity but now I just think its intentional.

And yes some of the HSTs were fitted with VP185 Engines, and 43173 was also fitted with that engine, eventually ending up in the Southall Rail Crash, with the investigation continuing until 2003 when it was cut. 43173 was the second power car to be cut after 43011 in 2002, followed then by 43019 in 2005 and 43140 in 2021.

The Class 442s have now been permanently withdrawn by South Western Railway and will be replaced by refurbished Class 458s which will be transferred from the Reading line and reforming them from 5 to 4 coaches and re-rated to meet the need for 100mph operations and other modifications to associate them for Mainline services to the South Coast

Since they shut this line and the ferries moved out Weymouth has become a very run down place now! WELL DONE TOWN PLANNERS you KILLED your town! Heritage steam excursions running on this line or even a small TRAM NETWORK would bring in revenue..........ohh but wait........you hadnt thought of that? DUUUUUHHH! You could even transport the fresh fish out on freight trains to London! If you rip up this line you will FINISH Weymouth, it used to be a popular resort Nd we used to go there when i was a kid and spend holidays! You wouldnt see me here now, theres more life in a dog’s coat than in Weymouth 😂😂😂 USE YOUR BRAINS reopen the harbour line and build NEW BUSINESSES AROUND and supporting THE line and train travel! Swanage is now the place to go we went there every year and they are raking in MILLIONS of tourists that can travel TO SWANAGE DIRECT BY RAIL! Ever wonder where all your tourists and visitors went Weymouth...........THERE YA GO.........tells you something doesnt it 🤷🏼‍♂️
